A Signal in the Darkness

Long after the trade routes fell silent, a deep-space pilot named Kaelen Voss received a broken distress signal from the moon of Ilyra.

The message contained only three words:

“Darkness is hunting.”

Although every warning beacon around Ilyra had failed, Kaelen turned his ship toward the moon. He had once promised its people that he would return if they ever called. Therefore, he could not ignore them now.

When he landed, the settlement stood empty beneath a violet sky. Doors remained open, lights flickered and fresh footprints crossed the silver dust. However, no voices answered his calls.

Then Kaelen heard metal scrape behind him.

The Red Blade Awakens

A group of armored raiders stepped from the shadows. Their leader carried a stolen power core that pulsed with unstable energy.

Kaelen reached for the dark weapon at his side. Its ribbed hilt felt cold in his hand. For years, he had refused to activate it because it reminded him of a past he wanted to forget.

This time, however, others needed him.

He pressed the silver switch.
